Meanwhile, there are two commercial magazines still focused on Linux: Linux Format in the UK and Linux Pro, based in Germany, but also published in the US. I'm planning to submit the stories that were in the LJ publication pipeline to these places, but you probably won't get as much information. The regenerated LJ allowed writers to go much deeper than elsewhere.
Interesting. In the original post, I clicked on the RSS "link" towards the bottom. Firefox invited me to subscribe via "Live Bookmarks," a Firefox browser feature that may pre-date Google Reader. It's a good name for non-technical people, but I don't know how many people have used it. I'm not even sure how it works.
Locus promises a more extensive obit later. I'll guess they don't have writers on staff whose job is to write obits in advance and update periodically. ;-)
