I was pretty involved the Drupal community for a while (permanent member of the DA, multiple modules, running a Drupal dev shop...) but left a while ago [1].
Just move to Jekyll or similar. Combined with a CMS like Jekyll+ [2] you can create very large sites and apps without having to bend a bloated stack to do what you it do in the front-end. You'll spend less time configuring things in an admin panel, and more time actually investing in the UX.
