I'm into the photo quality and I often carry a Sony camera, I prefer my RX100 better than an interchangeable one because of the size. But a few months ago I got my Pixel 3a and I am very amazed with its RAW photos. The JPEG ones look good on the phone, but acceptable on a large screen, probably too much processing/filtering. The video quality is decent because it doesn't feel as smooth as an iPhone even though it claims to have IS. The photo RAW is quite surprising, it gives me a lot more detail when editing for a 12MP camera. Overall, there's no good reason to bring a separate camera unless I'm going for a photoshoot.
