Google started such forced advertisements with their search engine now Microsoft is using their desktop OS hegemony using the code written mostly by google devs. I wonder how google will respond to this when edge is objectively better than chrome in many aspect like adblocking, horizontal tabs etc. And if they implement features like containers I think many people will migrate to edge easily :D
It is still microsoft. Even if they „win“ this, at some point they will fail and fall behind until they can utilize the work of others again to survive. That‘s just MS DNA.
You mean like they do in Azure? And Xbox? And Office? And Windows? Oh, wait….
I see Edge as its own business these days expected to generate revenue. Microsoft doesn’t NEED Edge to win, as they make tons of money from Chrome users just fine.
Cute, given that Edge is the same browser engine, leaving us still in the practical grip of Chrome/Blink if not necessarily the grip of the full combo of Google/Chrome/Blink.
