If Taiwan had not suffered as much inflation as it did over the last few decades, it would be more like 10X.


Having just returned from Taiwan (last time I was there was 2020) I was shocked at how much prices have risen -- and then realized it was significantly less than the increases in US prices. Also surprised at how much construction there is in Taipei. It seems all the young professionals I know are moving out of Taipei city to New Taipei City (e.g., to the burbs) because rent prices have escalated dramatically.
